Glendale, Isle of Skye, Inner Hebrides, Scotland

The most north-westerly community on the Isle of Skye, in Scotland's Inner Hebrides, Glendale is also the furthest north-west one can drive direct in the UK! The area boasts a world-class restaurant, award-winning cafe-gallery, and many talented artists and craftspeople. This traditional crofting area is bounded by spectacular cliffs, views of the Outer and Inner Hebrides, and designated 'wild land'.

The Glendale Estate was bought by its crofting residents in 1908, then paid for from their own pockets over the next fifty years. It is Scotland's oldest landowning community, and has a wealth of history from 106 years of local volunteer management. We are members of Community Land Scotland.
